Selectmen's Minutes - January 8, 1991
January 8, 1991     Present:  William P. Dynan, Chairman

Joseph Beretto and Residents of Woodbine Avenue area met with the Board and held a lengthy discussion regarding the Housing Authority's proposed Mental Health facility on Woodbine Avenue.  They were informed that this is out of the jurisdiction of the Board and that the Board would not execute any authority to influence the Board of Appeals.  The citizens have the right to appeal through the courts after the decision is rendered.  It was also strongly recommended that the citizens and the Housing Authority meet to discuss the issues prior to the decision of the Appeals Board.

Carole McCormack, Treasurer/Collector met with the Board to give her monthly report.  Discussed investment of funds and the current baking issues.  Present  bonding and indebtedness explained.

On motion by Murdoch and 2nd by Fasci voted 5-0 that the date for the closing of the warrant for the May annual Town Meeting would be March 5, 1991 at 8:00 p.m.

Constable discussion put off until January 29, 1991.

Mr. Vess presented items that he would remove from the cellar and place under the jurisdiction of the Historical Society.  Inventory to be made and items are to be on loan from the Town.  This was moved by Mr. Vess, 2nd Fasci.  Voted 5-0.  Ballot box and Selectmen agendas will be checked with the Town Clerk to see if these items should leave the Town Hall.

Reviewed and discussed the agenda for the Informational Town Meeting.

After discussion, Mrs. Fasci moved and 2nd Vess, Board voted 5-0 to appoint Helen Casoli as Sworn Weigher for the year 1991.

Voted to authorize the Chairman, William Dynan, to sign five copies of the Certificate of Donation regarding a piece of property from the Zaff's at "Walkey's Corner", intersection of Rtes. 14 and 58.  Motion Vess, 2nd Fasci, 5-0 vote.

Brief discussion held on informational Town Meeting for Wage and Personnel hearing and agenda items for next week.

Motion made by Murdoch at 9:15 to enter executive session with Chief Twomey under #4, deployment of security personnel, 2nd Fasci.  Roll call vote, 5-0.  

Meetings adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
